Verrerie (glassworks) could possibly be the origin of the name of the village or is it linked to its geographical situation ? In 1020 “Vitrola”, in 1040 “ Castrum de Vitrolla”, in 1200 “ Vitrola”, in provençal:” Vitrola”.
The village, set in the slopes of the Luberon range, keeps watch over the valley and offers visitors the splendours of its landscape.
You will appreciate its rural simplicity and its genuine quietness.You reward will be, perhaps, beautiful photos, walks in well preserved nature, or the meeting with a flock of sheep. |
